That is avery pertinent question and you as a moderator should know that their is a vast difference tonally in a plastic or a bakelite clarinet. Age does not come into it. Especially mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It could be wooden you know.

Mine is bakelite and for some unknown reason it has a very unpleasant whiff

All bakelite smells sortof acidy mainly when wet.That is how you tell plastic from bakelite.

my music teacher said around £200 or near offer. and no i forgot to ask him what it was made out of and me or my dad cant tell whether its plastic or bakelite

Like i said if u want to come and have a look at im only in great harwood i think thats best idea

John I think we decided earlier that the way to tell if it's plastic or bakelite is whether or not it whiffs. If it does, it's bakelite.
