Mystery Guest

Seem to have a bird stuck in the cavity of my kitchen wall, cannot understand how it got there .. just cheeps sadly now and then.
Apart from demolishing the whole wall, don't think there is anything I can do.

Just wanted to share it with somebody, making me sad. :(

It’s a shame is that, especially when there is nothing you can do only listen to its cries.
You’ve probably got a broken wall vent grill on your outside kitchen wall at ground level and the bird has probably hopped into the hole while searching for food etc.
You never know it may spot the outside light coming in and with a bit of luck make it’s escape.

Put your Hi-Fi in the kitchen & play the birdie song very loud, this will either:-
1/ Scare it out.
2/ Keep it company during it's last moments.
C/Drown it's dying twittering so you don't have to listen to it!

Perhaps if it's this bird you're lucky it got lost!

It will also drive you so mad that you'll end up throwing your hifi at the wall, making a huge hole thus allowing the bird to fly out safely (or flattening it in the rubble).

No cavity wall insulation then? :(

We thought we had a wood pidgeon trapped in our chimney this morning. We could hear cooing, very loud, and the cat was staring at the fireplace in sheer horror. It wasn't stuck at all, it was sitting on the chimney top, warming itself in the snowy weather, and cooing down the shaft.

after the chirping stops give it 2 or 3 days and the smell of its dead rotting body should start to appear

if it dosnt then that means the birdie got out ;)

At least while it's chirping you'll know you haven't left the gas on in the kitchen.

Well, thank you some of you for your support. To the comedians on here, know you all big softies, just pretend to be hard.

Westender: It is an adjoining wall with next door, so maybe they can hear it to, and on their side.

Len: no broken wall vents and bother! just turned security light on and think bulb gone now so no chance of it seeing the light.

Less, Chav, Garinda and Gayle :Banane24:

Margaret ... Thank you.

Oh dear >>>>>> gone quiet.

I was only trying to show off.:(

I love birds.

I feed them, house them, and used to have a pet one.

It is very sad.:(

Yes, sorry for being flippant. It happened once at my parents house and it came down the chimney that was blocked up. I ended up sleeping on the floor downstairs because I couldn't stand the awfulness of it.

I saw three chimney stacks on a trailer on the M6 yesterday complete with chimney pots. No birds nest on the top though.

Nearly nine years ago I was woken up with a bird fluttering about in my loft I was about 3 months pregnant with libby anyway I couldnt get back to sleep as I wanted to get it out so I got it a small saucer of milk or water cant remember what and some bread soaked in it and I cimbed up the ladders. I saw were it had come from in the roof.
Anyway I came back down and tryed to get to sleep again but by this time I was wide awake and couldnt so we decided to get up and have a drive to my mum's, when we got there my brother asked me if I had seen my dad and I replied no anyway he told me my Grandma had died early that morning and there was nothing they could have done. My grandma had died at the same time I was woken up with the bird 6.25am. I will never forget it.
