At the risk of raising some Lancashire ire, I'd have to put in a good word for the city of York. A great minster, a wonderful railway museum, and lots of other interesting bits of history. Of course, the place has a real problem with being completely overrun by tourists. BUT, just an easy train ride from Accy!

With it's historical interest, Chernobyl would be a fascinating place to visit, although it obviously isn't without it's dangers. It probably wouldn't be everyones cup of tea for an historical tour, so were would you like to visit and why?

My personal choice would be Berlin. It looks such a beautiful city and seems to touch everyone who visits because of it's historical past.

just read your thread berlin why berlin, why not liverpool the city of culture or bangkok the city of free and easy women that only speak when there spoken to what a country
