Has the world gone mad?
Has the world gone mad????????
In Sydney on thursday..there is to be a big day out concert to celebrate Australia Day which falls on the next day...... The organisers of this event .....have seen fit to ban anyone with an Australian flag in the audience however small......citing the reason it might stir up trouble with other ethnic groups ....as you can imagine there is a lot of flak flying around here from the media, the old soldiers and the general public....... |
Re: Has the world gone mad?
Yes, the world has gone mad.

Re: Has the world gone mad?

Re: Has the world gone mad?
If they're worried about stirring trouble with ethnic groups then why have an 'Australia day' at all?
Fools. |
Re: Has the world gone mad?
There are three flagpoles at our house. Old Glory is always on display. I will also fly the Union Jack on occasion as well as the flag of the last state we visited. So, we have a lot of flags around here.

The organisers have retreated into a cave somewhere........nowhere to be seen......

Re: Has the world gone mad?
It's completely and utterly barmy. Like shakermaker said if you are worried about the flags offending people don't organise the concert in the first place.

Re: Has the world gone mad?
Whatever happened to flags being a sign of unity and something to be proud of? What would happen if Queen Lizzie had to take hers down when at Buck House in order not to offend people? If someone moves to a country and gains citizenship then they should covert that flag not the one from the country they abandoned.
|
Re: Has the world gone mad?
absolutely! The flag is for eberyone who lives in that country. It's about time we claimed our flags back.
|
Re: Has the world gone mad?
It's just about time we all did what we wanted. Bloody hell if your flying the flag of the country that you are living in, then what the hell is the problem??:mad::mad:
I'm getting a bit sick of all this mamby pamby " oh you mustn't do that, it may offend" crap. If your offended then here - have something else to be offended at :thefinger:thefinger:thefinger |
Re: Has the world gone mad?
I watched tv last night and that Jade Goody was crying her eyes out, because she upset the 'sinsitivities' of that 'Bollywood' prima donna, what was she crying about? If the 'Bollybitch' had called the 'Goodybitch' a washed up Eccles Cake eater would 30,000 so called viewers have rung in and called it racial, I very much doubt it. Sorry for the thread wander.
