A new vision for Blackpool
I have pulled this from www.thepeoplesplayground.com website. Blackpool is transforming its seafront and wants opinions. Apparently they've had over 2,000 people (probably locals at this time of year) looking at the exhibition but they haven't had many comments on their website. Please don't comment on Accyweb without putting your comment on the Blackpool site as I'm only posting the link for information.
Welcome to a new vision for Blackpool! Last year, we invited designers from all over the world to submit their ideas for the transformation of Blackpool’s seafront into a spectacular ‘People’s Playground’. We were surprised and delighted by the positive response we received from highly-respected international agencies, all keen to meet our unique challenge to create an experience designed to excite and amaze residents and visitors alike: an experience firmly rooted in Blackpool’s extraordinary heritage, yet offering a totally twenty-first-century adventure. We want to make sure that people from the local community are kept up to date with developments and to ensure that everyone gets the chance to express their opinions. Please feel free to browse the website, view the designs (click here) and leave your feedback here. You’ll find we’ve also included a timetable so you can follow our progress throughout the coming months. We believe that this project could transform the way people feel about our historic town. What do you think? |
Re: A new vision for Blackpool
They are all mad!!!! Could be a lot of fun though, but the designs themselves are crazy!!!:D

Re: A new vision for Blackpool
a good start to attracting more tourism to blackpool would be to teach employees there how to use a mop and bucket :)

Re: A new vision for Blackpool
People probably thought Blackpool Tower was mad at the time. :D
I like the big donkey. Will register on their forum and make comments later when I come back from going out. |
Re: A new vision for Blackpool
What is it about council run websites and forums? I have just registered and tried to post my contribution to the debate only to find that like the Hyndburn Lite forum the damned thing does not work. So, no surprise that there are no posts.
