Blue Bin and chips

I knew that the council have been putting chips in the big bins... however I did not know they also put them in the blue one: only noticed it thing morning, mind you having said that I got a new blue bin just before Christmas . So maybe it is just in the new ones:

Re: Blue Bin and chips

Chips should really go in the supplied compost bin, not your blue box, which is reserved for glass.:D

It monitors the weight of recycling you do, it is all part of a grand plan to start charging people who are not recycling enough, and placing all their waste in the black bin.

Very true he did, but then some people weren't members a year ago and don't necessarily read old threads anyway, so I think we often have what we would class as old news coming back on but many newer members may never of heard about it!! :)

Because when you are new to a site it can take a while to get used to how things work, especially if you are also quite new to computers too!! I personally hardly ever use the search facility on here and certainly wouldn't think to do a search to see if something I wanted to post had already been done in the distant past

Re: Blue Bin and chips

I am somewhat new to the site....
also I was very surprised to find a chip in the blue box: I know about the big bins:

However, who is going to search everything on here before they post... you would hardly get any posts if that
was the case:

Maybe you should add: search before you post: in the site rules....

Re: Blue Bin and chips

i hope these chips in these blue box's arnt gps locators or it will show my blue box's position as under the stairs where it is doing a fine job of storing my junk

Supposing you don't actually have any glass bottles and jars to recycle so your box isn't very heavy. Can they penalise you for not throwing out things you don't have?

Caz 27-09-2008 20:26

Re: Blue Bin and chips

And can they penalise you for taking things to the tip yourself?

Does that come into their equation, or will I still get a stern reminder that I haven't recycled?

My blue box (and my blue sack) gets filled up pretty quickly, so tend to go to whinney hill before recycling day.

My cardboard always goes up there, coz I refuse to mess about tying string around it, and folding it like they suggest. Just gets squashed underfoot and chucked in the car. :)
