Another Fire!!!!!!!!!!!

At 4:45 was driving past the Hargreaves Arms (Bottom of Manchester Rd accross from old fire station) and the skip that is right against the side of the pub window on the car park is well up in flames about 7ft high. Whats going on? Do we have a serial arsonist working accrington?????

The pub was open cause all the people from inside had come out to see what was going on!! All these fires all seem to be a bit of a coincidence to me.!

Usually it happens up here & lovely oggle at the fire chappies in their heroic glory - not a snitch so far as its keeping more central now.

It does seem like we have had more than the average number of fires recently. Somebody was telling me that the person arrested/questioned (actual words "They got a lad for it") in connection with The Music Box was the person who set fire to Halfords and that lot a few years back.

Apparently one young arsonist told the firemen he likes to hear the sirens and see the flashing lights! A clout round the head would probably make him see some flashing lights and hear sirens.

Wonder if he still liked them if he'd set fire to something and the fire engines where there and his house went up in flames - the fire engines that could have been at his house were elsewhere so they had to get fire engines from Rawtenstall or Haslingden. Because the fire engines were elsewhere they couldnt save his house -everything burnt his most treasured posessions eg photos of his grandma & grandad who had died 5 years before, his school photos, what would he say?

Work, hard.;)

I only work for a broker, so paying claims is nothing to do with me. Thankfully.

There was also this one....

http://www.accringtonobserver.co.uk/...ike_again.html

My Dad was a fireman at Ossy for many years. And I remember being scared to death of his bleeper going off and him running out the door, because we never knew if he was going to walk back through the door. As a child it was terrifying. So much much praise to the, clearly, overworked firemen of the area. What is the point in setting fire to things is it a power thing?? Because they wouldnt be very powerful if setting something alight went wrong!!!

This is over a ten year period, This activity level is normal for a town like Accrington, such as Blackburn have three times this amount of suspicious building fires, please don't worry that Accy has a serial fire starter, nine times out of ten it will be bored kids thinking it will be a laugh to light a fire.
As for the fire at tommy blanks, that was just a fire waiting to happen the amount of tyres they had in the yard was a disgrace, not only was the fire a waste of resources but also caused severe damage to the environment and covered accy and surrounding areas with a poisonous layer of soot.
