Urgent help required !!!
 

I know this should be in Sport but it wouldn't get seen so am relying on kind hearted mods !
Acrington Cricket Club WILL fold by the end of June if we can't raise 10 grand. Please if anyone out there can help in any way contact the Club or me on here by pm;we obviously need the cash but also need help in the form of advice from professionals eg accountants and also volunteers for practical help.
This Club plays a vital part in the cricketing community and it would be awful if it were to fold for such a small amount of money.
We have plans for fund raising events over the next few weeks but it may all be too little to late.
Come on folks;please help us out here !

I can't help with money... however any events you have planned I can
advertise them on the front of the Accrington Market Web Site.... ( no charge to the club at all) we are getting lots of hits on there now....) so every bit helps and good luck, it would be a shame to see the club fold:

Thanks Magpie;anyone out there with their own business who would sponsor kit/players etc? Buy an advertising hoarding ? Have a do in the clubhouse? ( free use of clubhouse) . Would you guys pay to use the ground to do a car boot sale ?

Why not have the meet's in the clubhouse?, make a change from some of the places they have them.

That's a good idea Ianto;am just off down there to contribute in the only way I can (over the bar!) so I will see what beer they do other than the lager I usually have;don't think they have any real ale on though !

Not sure if any of you heard it but my Dad and David Lloyd have just been on Radio Lancashire appealing for help for the cricket club;we have been in the Lancashire League for nearly 200 years;we are in the position of not being able to fulfil ouir remaining fixtures.
If there is anything you can do to help please pm me or ring me and I will pass the info on, we need sponsorship,advertising money,donations.
There are plenty of opportunities here;sponsor a match; it costs only 200 quid and for that you and 9 pals get to watch the match and enjoy a complimentary buffet and bar and award your man of the match ! ** 20 quid each for a free bar and buffet in a lovely function room /or out in the sun,for the day !!!!**
Sponsor the match ball for just 40 quid !
The 20/20 matches start this coming Friday and Accy are at home to Rishton on Friday June 8th,the bar is open from 5;30. Come on down and enjoy quick cricket {the noisy kind with music and daft coloured strips !**.
I really cannot emphasise how very important this is;even if you don't like cricket please just come along to the 20/20 match ,for the ladies it's a great excuse to sit in the early evening sun (hopefully !) ,have a pint or 2 and a burger and ogle the the athletic young men,the blokes just stand around saying how good they were in their younger years !
Please help us in any way you can.

If theres anyone who has never been then i can tell you it's not half bad.. lots of luverly hot grub on sale and a good sized bar.. Saw quite a few Accy Stanley regulars there today.. Including Lee carter who doesn't even like Cricket hahaha :) watching Blackpool in the playoffs on sky sports..

If anyone wants to sponsor a match and wants to take 10 names at 20 quid each for a bit of a sunday afternoon outing then I will put my name down... Sorry not organising it as I am off organising stuff at the moment.. but would put my name in no problem...

If you have never been to cricket... heres a good chance to try it while doing something good... ie getting drunk :)

Count me in on that to, no way this Cricket Club should be let die like Accrington Stanley was, how long did it take to get the Football Club back, if nothing else we should learn the lessons of history. If someone will organise what Kippax is suggesting the you can count on my support.

blood shane warne or david lyyod should give some money warnes a millionare the club started his career off .

Was wondering this re. the Accywebbers kisser, if we could get a party together .. would be willing to take part, particularly the Ladies night :D, if we could persuade 20 of our members ?? Sounds a good bargain to me.

I will check what dates are available to sponsor and exactly what you get for your dosh;it sounds a good deal to me,even if you don't watch the match !
