Exciting New Development
Heres a link to the new waterside development, in case any of you thrusting young executives fancy relocating
The Waterside Accrington development |
Re: Exciting New Development
I wonder how much they cost to buy:confused:
Oops, just noticed price list on link lol! |
Re: Exciting New Development
Too expensive for my pocket. That and I thought when I was down that it was going to be more office space.
|
Re: Exciting New Development
£90k to £143k dependent on floor, spec and bathroom. Indoor carpark £7.5k outdoor £5k. Now who in Accy can afford this then?
|
Re: Exciting New Development
No prices listed for 6th floor, offers invited
|
Re: Exciting New Development
You have to down load the price list.
Out and About tells you all about the Ribble Valley and the Trough of Bowland, not Accy! Strange that. Be nice to see more pics of the show flats. Sounds quite nice, but not an area I'd like to live in. |

Re: Exciting New Development
The irony is that the view even from the penthouse flats are not exactly awe inspiring are they. Who in their right mind would buy off plan without visiting it are either wrong in the head or more money than sense.

Re: Exciting New Development
The photograph in the Observer looked very impressive, though I don't know if it had been airbrushed to make it look more picturesque.
Sorry for those who haven't seen it, as the photo isn't on the website. There is a suprising lack of photographs on the actual development's site. That's all there usually is. |
Re: Exciting New Development
When I last spied it it was just a steel frame and that was at the beginning of the month. Dont think it is worth the cost for a pad there considering it reminded me of the building of the Asda back in the 80's.

I can't see how they can have already been sold if they are being listed with prices and offers invited for the two on the top floor.

Which "water" do these things "front" on ... the canal? Seems like a hell of a lot of money. Tells you a lot about the intelligence of the nouveau riche, if they would pay that kind of money for an apartment.
|
Re: Exciting New Development
It's an old lodge.
|
Re: Exciting New Development
The blue splodge on this map is the lodge in question.

So with the all the building guarantees that these apartments come with, meaning they'll be maintenance free for at least ten years, plus all the extras, such as white goods etc, the price isn't really that exorbitant. |
Re: Exciting New Development
Uk property prices are exhorbitant because we are an overcrowded country. which makes land prices high before even a brick is laid

Re: Exciting New Development
I loved that episode ... all of them in fact ... one of the benefits of satellite tv is that you can still see some great old shows among the general crap.

Re: Exciting New Development
I don't think the location is all that briliant, and looking at house prices in the vicinity (ie bottom end of Ormerod St and area) they go for a lot less than £100,000.
I take your point about them hopefully having all mod cons and what have you and that's why I said I'd like to have seen more images of the interiors on the website because there can be a world of a difference in value simply depending on how well they have been done inside. I like the idea of "Puddleside Park" - sounds far more appropriate! :D |

Re: Exciting New Development
Have they dropped some prices, I swear when I looked last the cheapest was £90k but now there has been 3 reserved and one says £79K
|
Re: Exciting New Development
Wonder if anybody has actually bought one of these? Can't see any lights in them which leads me to believe none are occupied. Anybody know?
|
Re: Exciting New Development
Walked past them yesterday and they did look totally deserted. I quite like the fron though, lodge side.
|
Re: Exciting New Development
Yes have walked that way to my daughters a few times, it is very nice round there
|
Re: Exciting New Development
Maybe they may drop the price if they can't be sold;)

Re: Exciting New Development
I recently made enquiries about these apartments and it is clear that they haven't sold many. I was offered a choice between 9 available (at one estate agent)
They were all on the 1st floor and was told that more are expected to be available for rent on higher floors in time. There are no ground floor flats. The floor plans are here http://www.watersideaccrington.co.uk...floorplans.pdf I was tempted by flat #1 which has a terrace and faces SE (the pointed end) but have been put off by- no smoking - no gas - no central heating (not even night storage heaters)- and of course no pets (which I expected and agree with) Now how can this development be considered 'luxury' when the heating is so primitive? (electric wall mounted panels) Rents are nearly £500 a month + extra £30 or £40 for car parking. It looks destined to be a 'white elephant', and on driving past today the white paint on part of the outside was beginning to look a bit shabby. |

At £500 per month you could buy your own property. I agree with you margaret it will become a "white elephant" as will the development on willow street in accrington, the old nightclub building. Wrong time, wrong place. |
