lol this going to look like i am splitting hairs here but..

a pervert could come to accy web and prey on children because we cant see what he sends via the pm system unless of course we are admins or somthing with the power to read other peoples private messages

didnt i read here about some perverted monkey mascot that uses this site , how are we to know he isnt approaching children via pm , im NOT saying he is im just giving an example :updown:

yes there is reason to mention the church when talking about pedophiles because there are thousands of cases world wide of children been raped by priests and other religious figures whithin the church,if you were so bothered about the church defend it openly and not through the back door , mind you just like the priests there eh ?

think you misunderstand what i was sayin

you said there is a difference between a pervert visiting a site and using the site to do their work

i was pointing out that if you have a pervert on a site you dont know what they are upto behind the scenes

you cant go shutting things down just because a pervert may use it or you will have to shut everything down , unfortunatly perverts are very sneaky people and will find some other way to do their thing, im not saying its right but its near impossible to stop them but this dosnt mean we should stop trying

like others say simply kill the bastards , although you can go round shutting things down the best way to protect your kids is to watch them, i have watched programs about perverts on the net and i noticed that in most cases these kids were been left alone in their rooms for hours unsupervised and talking to god knows who on the internet.

yes kill all perverts but actualy keeping an eye on children wouldnt hurt either

We're saying you should deal with them, to the full extent of the law, but don't ruin everyone elses fun because of them.

We don't ban camcorders because SOME people use them to record illegal material, be that of a sexual nature or perhaps in the cinema. It would ruin the legitimate uses of it for the average law abiding person.

Do you agree?

It's funny. Yesterday, my son came home with another child. My son said
" Mum, can I go on second life??.... it's like a sims game mum " as you can imagine my shock!! :eek: I think my reply was something on the lines of " I don't bloody well think so, it's nothing like sims..... and no, you will never be allowed on it "
Was shocked that the other child was allowed to be honest, after what I have been hearing.

But what other parents let their children do is nothing of my concern..... what my children get up to IS my concern.

Yes I'm pretty sure I can still use a camcorder, however I can't use it to break the law, well I can, but I'd get prosecuted.

I would like you to try and go to my kids sports day and camcorder their sports event ;) better people have tried and failed. Just like you are NOT allowed to take camcorder equipment into a swimming baths.............

you can never be too carefull when protecting our children but isnt it going too far when we cant film our own kids first christmas play or even take in a camera or face getting arrested if you take a picture of your child in the bath

these perverts have got us so paranoid we are ruining things for the decent people and not effecting the perverts


my mum has photos of my first school play and pictures of me in the bath as a baby and i dont feel abused , although i do wish she wouldnt show them to girlfriends :rolleyes:

The owners of Second life will need to clean it up or decent people will stay out, and it will just get a reputation as a place for porn and perversion.

A while back I joined and spent half an hour on that arrival island. I was approached by a naked man asking 'will you be my friend?' - left rapid and never went back.

There are aspects of real life we don't want to experience in a virtual world.
A virtual world is escapism from reality but it shouldn't allow the playing out of sexual fantasy.

Yes I agree with you on this one. I was just pointing out to Cyfr, that NO, just cos you have a camcorder, doesn't mean you can use it where ever you want.

I think it is a shame about not being able to record Nativity plays at school. Recording has always been good to catch them moments forever. But it's just a sad fact of the times I guess.
