I actualy thought that in the budget it was anounced that road tax would be going up on bigger cars such as 4x4s ect, but I didn't grasp the fact that older cars were to be hit too, which is what the article is getting at, but which ever way you look at it, its just another stealth tax:eek:

It appears that all the motoring organisations are up in arms about this, saying the the details had be hidden in the small print and not fully explained by the Government, well nothing new there then:(

Just to make you all feel better, the cost of car insurance is set to rise too ... due to the high cost of repairs. (I think also all those cheats claiming for whiplash !) ... :(

talking about road tax, my fella went to get his 6 month tax the other week, he took his forms, and got his £99 ready when they said it was actually £101.75(or summat similar)
IMO if the form says £99.00 then it should be what it says:(
anyone else noticed this?

this is exactly what the govenment want , they basicly want us sat at home twiddleing our thumbs only venturing out to work so we can pay tax, they have made it almost impossible for pubs to run at a proffit and made beer too expensive, they banned smoking which has also hit the pub industry hard and tax the hell out of fuel so we cant afford to go out in our cars too much and just incase we can afford peterol etc they hit us with high road tax

basicly the govenment wants us sat at home with our cheap supermarket beer smoking our fags at home and saving up for a week to afford fuel to go shopping in our cars

cant see the tories been any better either coz they always liked to screw the working class as well and the lib dems would ban cars all together and have us getting around on tandems

like somone said earlier - RIPP OFF BRITAIN

just wait until the next new tax comes along because the bbc are pushing for us all to have an extra licence for the internet as well as a tv licence
