Matthew, which site are you going with? I can offer you some help and advice on how to do the things people are suggestingon the ProBoards one. (Things like the swear filter etc)

Sorry Mathew but is still way to bright, the colours clash. You need dark text on light background or vice versa if thats possible.

Hmm, I think that Matthew needs to visit several other forums & see what colour schemes & forums are available on them to get some ideas.

Before getting more moderators he really needs to setup the forums properly.
Although we all started somewhere & without knowing what to do.

Perhaps if you can define what your forums are going to be about, what "theme" you are going to follow? I.E. just general chat, specific subjects like a fishing forum, a specific town forum, a sport forum etc, most follow some form of theme like that.

That would then help you to decide what sub forums to have, where posts about specific things can go into specific sub forums. Otherwise it can all become a big mess & everything getting posted in just one place becomes hectic & harder to moderate etc.

Proboards is adequate to start you out with having a forum, however there are better loooking ones & some without adverts too. Still you will learn more as you go along.
