Irish Republic vote NO

The Irish have voted against signing up to the treaty of Lisbon .. the latest EU resolution and this put's the new treaty in jeopardy.
The reason given by most of the research by pollsters is that the Irish public don't understand the wording of the new Treaty ! .. can we really rely on a community were knowing how to milk a cow is regarded as "educated" ?
