Even if one of these rats with wings is a gift from the Queen, they still carry as much disease as the non-flying version, not least a pretty nasty and incurable lung disease. I wonder if LCC education dept are aware of this or the local Health & Safety office?

Its a wonder the H & S have let this one get under their radar, they're usually well on the ball Tealeaf, and I agree dirty little flying rats:(

I have had it thown in my face many times by the website knowalls that I am no longer entitled to the care of the NHS.......Wrong.
I am entitled to have extended holidays wherever and whenever I chose.
I have not surrendered my passport, I have not opted to join the Spanish System. I still have a British Driving Licence....I do not claim benefits. Nor do I intend to whilst in Spain.
If I need to come to England for NHS care then so be it.
I have never crabbed the NHS nor do I intend to.
End of rant.:)

Totally agree with you Roy, during your working life you paid enough into the system, unlike other people who come to this country and have never paid a bean into the system

I remember a few years ago getting a table seat on a pretty crowded train from Preston to London; when we stopped at Wigan, a young lady got on carrying a cat transporter and plonked it down on the table between me and her. I couldn't see the little beasties inside, but I could hear two of 'em moving. Then she turned the cage round. Cats? No! Dogs? No! Two Big black rats - Yes! The other two people on the seats soon cleared off, one to see the train conductor, who promptly turned up. However, trains today don't have luggage compartments and she was able to persuade him these were bona fide pets and so I spent the next 3 hours facing these beasts while they tucked in and I tried to make the best of my now not very appetising cheese butty.

Lots of Swine flu cases being confirmed around our area now, I personally know of one woman who has it, rang her GP today and told to quarantine herself and contact her daughter and grandchild to do the same; it's getting bigger by the day. This particular friend was so weak she couldn't lift her arms above her head, and she is normally a fit 37 year old.

Now confirm at Oswaldtwistle Primary School

My children attend St Andrews Primary in Oswaldtwistle. Today we received a letter informing us that a child in the school has been diagnosed with swine flu.

As far as I am aware, it is those with low immune systems (eg, pregnant, babies, ill or elderly) that are most at risk. Hope this kiddie is okay. Must be scary for family.

my niece goes there, my bro's keeping her off, they have a baby due in 8 weeks and he's not risking it for the baby's sake
