Two police dogs have died after over-heating in a parked car.

An investigation was launched after the dogs were found in a car outside Nottinghamshire Police's headquarters.
Assistant chief constable Peter Davies told the BBC: "This is a tragic incident and we value the important work our police dogs carry out on a daily basis.
"That is why we swiftly reported this incident to the RSPCA and we will be working with them very closely."

Couldn't believe this when I read it........anyone with an ounce of common sense knows not to leave dogs in a car in this weather :(

You can't believe any one being so stupid, just wonder if the RSPCA will prosecute the police for this, the IPCC are undecided what to do:eek:

I reckon the police would have something to say if a member of the public did this, one rule for one and all that! :rolleyes:

They'd definitely have had something to say if a member of public had seen the dogs' plight and smashed a window.

i say take them to court not the force but the coppers it is baisic do not leve dogs in cars when it is hot

Radio 4 news said the policeman who was in charge of the dogs may be prosecuted. Let's hope so.

but nothing in the press about the dogs that died at Blackpool ch show last weekend along with the RSPCA having to break into cars to get dogs out.

Something about leaving dogs in the car or any animal for that matter, on tv this morning, asking a vet what to do if you see any animal in the same situation.
They said smash the car window then call the police and the RSPCA!
