Called in Imposta for the first time yesterday for coffee and bacon butties .

I enjoyed them and found the service excellent .

Before all these eating establishments were open in Accrington I remember going to a cafe on Blackburn Rd opposite the Railway pub , I think between Eagle St and Birch St . It was a well-known place for going for a meal in those days , but I can't for the life in me remember its name .

Was there also a Co-op restaurant ? I seem to recall going there after a funeral .

I booked my 1st wedding reception at the Coop restaurant in Warner St.(1961)
A methodist wedding - hence booze free venue.

Just 2 months before the big day they advised me that the venue had been double booked, and since the other booking was for a larger party, mine could not now be accommodated. I had booked it many months before so was very 'miffed'.

I managed to book the Swan Inn(now Grants) opposite the police station, and the methodist vicar(invited too) didn't seem to mind the venue. Cidona was available for the religious fanatics in my husband's family.

So the Co-op restaurant was in Warner St . I thought it was somewhere up that way .

Do you not mean the Hargreaves Arms , which is now Grants ?
