At least one of them will go home without people wondering where his fingers had been.

shock horror tory tells the truth, transport secretary phil hammond says the railways are a rich mans toy. i think in more ways than one the public money pumped into so called private firms are a disgrace the tories started it but this is one policy where labour blew it big time .they should have nationalised the railways as private firms took advantage of the public purse.now in times of high inflation static wages they decide its a good idea to raise train fares.i dont know the law, but if all the train firms raise the prices by 8% is this not some kind of price fixing for which firms have been fined for doing this same thing .any politicians or people in the know know the answer:confused:

And if it had been renationalised how much money would the tax payer have to pump in to make it viable, nationalise industries treated the treasury as an unsustainable bottomless pit

Somebody in the network rail set up seems to live in cloud cuckoo land. It seems to me that they're upgrading stations up and down the land with no regard as to how deep the pockets are of the fare paying customers.

we would actually save money as the profits would be invested back in the railways private companies are established to make a profit so we now have railway companies taking subsidies and still paying shareholders their premiums thats what you call a waste.plus railway companies paying their directors top dollar without any consenquences ie railtrack who left a trail of debt to their creditors who went bust while recieving billions of payouts the private sector had their chance Railtrack goes bust with debts of 3.5bn - Telegraph BBC NEWS | Business | Government bails out Connex connex, railtrack, to name a few what we know about.

Which one?

Labour, or New Labour.

Will we be looking back fondly to Harold Wilson, or Tony Blair?

Margaret, he does care, he's even paying attention to your suggestions about punctuation, he's using full stops now, admittedly never in the right places and often without spaces or Capital letters following them, but that must show that he at least cares enough to listen to you.
:)

Below shows two full stops he used in just one post!

Profits what bloody profits, you definitely live on cloud cuckoo land, nationalised industries didn't make a profit, especially the railways, they just sucked up taxpayers money at a great rate of notes, and the tax payer saw nothing for their money
