Re: The Tories

From april 6th working tax credits will fall for working families with children, in some cases by over £500 per year, this at the same time this government made tax cuts for incomes of over 150k pa.. it works out that incomes of 200k are better off by at least £500per month.
It seems the government now class tax credits as benefits and they are saying they must make cuts...but is the tax cut for the richest not a benefit ?.. and what happened to "we are all in this together"

Re: The Tories

There are examples of working men and women with children who will lose so much due to the tax changes that working for a living is no longer an option, if the only earner in a household works less than 26 hours per week tax credits with be cut, the employers of some of these people are refusing to up the hours these people can work and so they are in a catch 22.. work and live in poverty or sign on and live in poverty.

And your point is ? If people who are working for a living have to stay home with their parents because they can't afford to pay for a place of their own, why the hell should someone who isn't working (and has probably never worked, the article doesn't make this distinction) be given money so they can enjoy that particular luxury ?

Francis Maude killed my dog with reckless jerry can comments, claims owner - Telegraph

Bit sensationalist don't you think ? The DT seems to be approaching standards maintained by the DM. While the woman in question was understandably upset about her pet Dog (as a dog owner myself I have some empathy) one dumb arsed politicos comments can not be held up as a cause for other peoples inherent stupidity & self serving attitudes.

No, it's a basic tenet of a civilised society. But a place of your own, paid for off the backs of someone elses efforts is.

Most of those concerned will have parents, but due to the "it's my right & I want everything now mentality !" Many would have struck out, with hands held outstretched wanting & the system, gawd luv 'em has doled it out hand over fist.
