The End is nigh

BBC News - 'Rapture' apocalypse prediction sparks atheist reaction

According to Harold Camping (89) the world as we know it will end today the 21sn May at 6pm that's when Jesus returns to earth to take all the none sinners back to heaven with him, that whole proses will be finished by October 21st. Hell I would have thought he would be able to do the job of saviour (again) by 6-30pm today never mind October

ps Harold made similar predictions in 1994 but nothing happened seemingly he got his maths wrong:eek::eek::eek::D

After reading your post jaysay I have been out and bought an extra case of Stella lager, I am making sure I am well stocked because I think I will be one of the lucky ones left behind when all the "Non sinners" have been taken.

I don't want to go yet anyway.

Or Graham Jones.

Or the last Labour government?

The worldwide destruction is inconvenient though, Doctor Who will be about to start on BBC One.

I think someone with medical training should find out if he knows who the current President is, the year we're living in now, and what day of the week it is today, before he's allowed to make any further predictions.

The world is seemingly full of doomsayers proclaiming that the Lord will wreak a terrible vengeance on us all or that we're going to die from some dreaded disease or natural disaster or overindulgence.

Has anyone considered the shocking alternative that we might actually just survive?

I don't know about anyone else but I wake up every morning thankful that I have a loving wife, a nice house and enough work to keep me occupied for several years. I'm reasonably healthy and I get a kick out of the little things like a nice pint of ale or a good book.

I pity anyone who looks for the worst elements in life and turns them into the focus of their energies simply because they have nothing better to occupy their time.

If you contemplate the possibilty that there are 'multiple universes', the outcome of any happening has limitless potential.

Prophecies are a snapshot of an outcome possible at the time the prophecy was made, based on the universal collective conciousness prevailing at the time it was made.

Fortunately religious fundamentalists are a minority, so the rapture didn't happen in this particular parallel we are experiencing - it may have happened in another.

What we collectively think affects what will happen - so be careful what you think ;)

If you are intrigued by this notion, you could explore it by visiting -

The world is ending! He got the punchline right, but simply misjudged the timeline by a few billion years.

^^ The interesting thing about quantum theory and metaphysics is that it seems to blur the line between science and theism. The measurement problem suggests that consciousness itself plays a part in reality, and that some external influence dictates what our consciousness can percieve. It's a bit of a head-fudge, but very interesting.

String theory (or theories - there are still many) is another reality trip. Watch this video:

The book is quite an interesting read too.

21st October is the third prediction for world destruction.

Since I've only got a few months left I'm off to really live on the edge by drinking more than one glass of red wine a day, eating Bacon Grill and smoking the odd cigar. I live in mortal dread of all those things which are CERTAIN to come back to haunt me such as using the Lord's name in vain, the relationships I've had out of wedlock and eating meat on a Friday.

Yes, of all the cock ups I've ever made I'm sure those are the ones that God ranks as punishable by death.

Oh what a joyous life it must be to be totally dominated by a single book.

I am not forecasting the end of the world...
BUT ..... ;)
.....in the last week of Sept, amateur astromoners are forecasting global geological upheaval
due to an incoming dwarf star,(only visible using infra red), which will pass between Earth and the sun.

(allegedly)This dwarf star is being described as 'comet Elenin' by government astronomy sites in order to conceal the fact that it is not a small harmless lump of ice but actually has a mass the size of Jupiter (allegedly)

I do not know whether it is true - I am not an astromoner.

I suggest you get on with living, because, if true, there is nothing we can do to change it.
If it worries you, you need to work on your knowledge of what life and death are,
so that you won't fear it (or anything else for that matter)

Nice try for the doomsayers (and no disrespect to you, Margaret) but if a dwarf star for some bizarre reason decided to scythe through our system it would cause absolute chaos and would not simply surprise us all one morning. The planets would be pulled out of their orbits one by one and in order to get here by the end of September it would have to be moving at a collossal lick, something I wouldn't expect something the size of Jupiter to be capable of without a few ripples. I would be more mindful to consider that any astronomical body that moved in such a manner was either a comet or a meteor, stars just do not behave in this way.

Where do people get these crackpot ideas? An elementary understanding of physics debunks almost every single one of them without lifting a finger.

This where I got the info - he displays data from Nasa in order to conclude what he says

Between my post and yours you did not have time to watch the 14min video.
If you had, you would have noticed that the site you have snapshotted is referred to at length.

Anyone can upload a video full of bad physics. But as my mind allegedly
closed there is no point discussing this further.

Margaret, I take it when you say

dwarf star,(only visible using infra red)
, you are referring to a Brown Dwarf.
You see there are several classes of Dwarf Star.

Also the only known Brown Dwarf Star that is near to the size of Jupiter is
COROT-3b, it is transiting in a circular orbit around a F type star, which is 4.2568 days long in the constellation of Aquila.
Looks like reality has been distorted by a you tube video...

And while we are at it, recently there were internet reports of a Magnetic Pole Shift, happening on the 15th March 2011... Well seeing the Jet Aeroplane I fly references everything, including the Navigation system to Magnetic North I think I would have seen a change in the poles. Still waiting, anyone for Amero's?

I can remember being about 13 years old when one of these crackpots came up with a story like this....people were taking themselves up mountains and down to the depths of caves and it scared me witless........I was really, really frightened.
Maybe the teens of today are more streetwise, and perhaps didn't give it a thought.......but you don't know.

Neither.

In my own little world it is Kenny J's Big Book of Common Sense, revised and updated on a daily basis.

Occasionally my actions are tempered by the Labour Whip but I am thankful to say that is remarkably rare.

He is a week out :D
The Mayan calendar ends on Friday 28th
http://www.calleman.com/content/arti...sk_of_2012.htm

It is not the end of the world
...most likely will be the total collapse of world financial systems.
... and if you haven't seen it coming you must have had your eyes closed for the past 3 years;)

Living without a monetary system will feel like 'the end of the world' to some, and can be a threat to survival of many.

Start considering now how you will survive without cash/credit/debt.
Those with the most cash have the most to lose - there is some sort of justice in that (depending on how they got it;) )
