Arrived late at the station -5 mins till train for Pavia departed, massive unruly queues for tickets. Looking innocent and lost I stopped a guy in uniform who worked there and ended up being taken to the front of the queue -ticket sorted and was escorted to the train and seen on-board with a kiss on the hand (Didn't get his number though;))

You have to love the Italians even if they don't queue!:D

It all started going downhill for the Italians after unification in the nineteenth century.

They were much happier as collection of city states, with the shouty lot confined to the south.

People are always more content under independent rule, rather than all be lumped together, as some unworkable super state, governed from far away.
