Re: Christ Church, Accrington - Criminal Caught in the Act
Being nosey, I went on Google street view, to have a shufty.
There are five parking bays in the square, one of which is marked disabled. There are no signs saying those spaces are for residents only. Nor has the person who lives nearby, who's disabled, a preferential right to park there. Any disabled person is lawfully entitled to park there. As long as they display a relevant disabled parking permit. Anyone has the lawful right to park on any public highway, as long as they adhere to parking regulations. No one has any legal right to park outside their house, if that house is in a public street. Perhaps those who go about causing criminal damage should sod off, and go and buy a house with a private drive. Either that, or stay, and get electronically tagged. In which case they might consider buying a hoodie, and risk getting a nice big hug from David Cameron, the next time he's visiting the area. |

As for 5 bays, there are only 3 houses facing that bay, the car that had its tyre done was not parked in any of those bays, but at the top of Timber St, where it meets up with Hill St. |

If it is just a Blue Badge then it can only be parked in a disabled parking slot to drop off/pick up the disabled person. |
