Wouldn`t fancy bumping into this one - the goliath bird eating spider.

I don't think that is a native Australian species.

You`re right Margaret, if ever I need an excuse not to go to South America, that`s it.:)

some of the Aussie ones are tiny, but will still kill you and if one of the redbacks bites you in the bum..well, that's when you find out who is a true friend(suck the poison out of that).

I once stayed with my sister in law out in the wilds......I was told off for taking an interest in a small copperhead snake........and I would never venture to the outside dunny at night!

My son and his wife are cleaning it this weekend, even though it doesn't look nasty.

They are also hanging my new curtains and obtaining meter readings etc.

Pickfords will be packing my chattels on Monday am.

I have told all the people who need to know, so I can just sit back and 'chill out' this weekend, and draw floor plans of where I want furniture put.

My son is in contact with the landlord and has instructions for operating the boiler -

he has exceeded all expectations - bless him

Margaret is this what they're going to be using to move you tomorrow .. :p:p:p good luck .. and hope everything goes smoothly ...

So are Grizzlys and Polar Bears ... but at least they hug you before ripping you limb from limb:D

A grizzly is unlikely to be hiding under your pillow though...or in your shoes.:)

I never had much care for the Black Widow either, although I think I may have just missed the human counterpart by the skin of my teeth on a few occasions

Today's the day, Margaret. Hope all goes smoothly with the move and you are relaxing on your balcony by this evening. You have paid for Pickford's to take the stress, hope it works out!

Re: Heatwave

I have arrived :D

I am really tired - son has looked after me, and the flit, all day.
'Sit down Mum' has been his saying today.

Arrived 'bottom end' mid afternoon.
Didn't escape the heat that started midday, but now am in my new place with the balcony doors open and cooling off.

My son and his wife have just left after unpacking what I need for overnight survival and they made up my bed.

I was at my endurance limit early afternoon but now am in 'recovery mode'.

Thanks for the good wishes.

Glad you have landed Margaret...and it must've been an upheaval even with the help you had.
Cool off, settle down, bu88er the unpacking, there's all day tomorrow, and Wednesday hasn't been started on yet.
Be happy in your new home.
