It all depends where you go - London is a pretty big place.
Wouldn't want to live there having done 3 years in the western outskirts but do enjoy visiting there. There are some truly magnificent sights to see

Come to think of it, it ain't just London. Many Canadians don't like TO. When I lived in Saskatchewan, during the first referendum on Quebec separation, the most popular t-shirt read: "If Quebec Separates, Make Them Take Toronto." I have this feeling that folks weren't supposed to live in such large numbers at close quarters. The happiest place I lived in was Saskatchewan. Only about 900,000 people in the whole province. And the largest city is Saskatoon, with a pop. of just over 200,000. Out in the rural communities, which are sadly becoming ghost towns, everyone knew everyone else. No one locked their cars and their houses. Crime, apart from a little drunk and disorderly and DWI on the back roads, hardly existed.

You don't have to go to London to be miserable. Just watch one episode of Eastenders.

Lovely pics.

How long before London covers parts of Lancashire? It keeps growing from the time it was only about a square mile to then taking in part of Middlesex. It's so large now that it's stretched into parts of Essex, Surrey and Kent as well.

Forget London. Come down to kent. Sit here drinking good ale (Made up North) overlooking the Ocean. Well the English Channel, but its ok by me.

The Blackfriars pub on the embankment had Thwaites Wainright on the last time I was in there. My lad tells me it is available in a number of pubs, as is Bomber (occasionally), in a number of pubs in the Putney/Roehampton area.
