There has been a church there for more than 1400 years, there's lots of graves also.i knew there was money problems but I didn't see demolition on the cards....

.... I really hope they don't.

as the saying goes if you dont use it you loose it

less and less need for churches because less and less folk buy into religion , well Christianity at least.

mosques are on the increase though so its not all bad news for religion in general

Problem is though, that Islam falls well short of a religion as most of us understand it, more of a cult really.

The church is a grade II* (higher status than grade II) listed building so I'd be surprised if it was demolished.

If that is the case hopefully it will be saved. It is awful to see such lovely buildings falling into ruins. Far better to use them for some other use than to stand empty for years and years. I know of a couple that have been turned into apartments.

Yesterday's Daily Telegraph carried an advert inviting people to subscribe to an organization to "Help save the UK's rural churches for just £30".

jesus has been saving for years i have been informed by many pictures shared on facebook so surely he must have accumulated enough finances to cover the cost

I want first refusal on the stained glass windows I mentioned in this thread:-

Or perhaps they could sell them to someone who can afford them :D

If it goes, it is highly unlikely to be a pub as most of those in that vicinity have been shut.

Yet the Church of England is said to be one of the richest landowners in the country!

Lets not let a small error in the spelling spoil a good story, at least you knew what I meant. Seriously though I blame the Australian Keyboard
