Accringtons New Town Square
Now that I've seen the 'new town square' free of fencing etc, I can't help but wonder just where £2 million was spent on this!!!!!:confused::confused:

Re: Accringtons New Town Square
It looks impersonal, unfriendly and an urban wilderness. The trees near the Railway pub look like they have been planted by drunks, they are leaning over.
Whoever approved this design should be hanging their heads in shame.. |
Re: Accringtons New Town Square
I cannot see where the money went either.
The real cause for concern is that members of our council thought that this development would bring in people to the town. It was seen as a regenerative project.(deluded fools) What is there that is pleasant to look at? Absolutely nothing. That they have put objects that are linked to the Pals regiment is an insult to these brave young folk.....and it was (in my opinion-and I know that is worth little) an opportunistic ploy aimed at making the project seem acceptable. It looks unfinished....like it is waiting for some installation. And it was paid for in part by OUR MONEY. |

Re: Accringtons New Town Square
I am almost sure that Ryewolf posted a picture on another thread.
I can only find pics of the square in an unfinished state or artists impressions. Maybe I will get a pic of the place tomorrow. |
