Re: Free TV licences for the over 75's
Jimmy they know they can do it because they are not reliant on market forces for their revenue....they know that anyone who has a TV should pay the licence, even if they never watch the BBC.
They know that those who do not pay can be taken before the courts and if they refuse to pay the bailiffs will be instructed to remove their possessions...in short they are a law unto themselves...they do not need to please the population until 2027, when their charter is up for renewal. Let us hope that by then the BBC will have sunk without trace. |

They know that those who do not pay can be taken before the courts and if they refuse to pay the bailiffs will be instructed to remove their possessions... if everyone stuck to their guns then the courts and bailiffs would not be able to cope with the situation. its not as if its only the over 75,s that are annoyed by this, there are so many others on the BBC case. could they live with the headlines like bailiffs force entry in a 90 year olds house to obtain goods to the value of a television licence. there seems to be more against the BBC now than there was on the poll tax issue. |
