weird thoughts....

sat here in my chair, doing not much else, some crazy weird thoughts come into my head, like:-

If humans evolved from monkey's/apes, why are they still here?
Can you cry underwater?
What shape is the sky?

I think the sky is curved round like the surface of the earth - oh but does it have sticky out bits where the mountains are?

entwisi 12-01-2007 14:32

Re: weird thoughts....

but the 'sky' is an abstract thing, so it cannot have 'shape'

I've wondered this - and it's not just monkeys, the whole evolution process is supposed to start at amoebas, fish, lizards etc - why are they still here?

Plus, isn't evolution supposed to be a way of changing things as they adapt to their environment - if so, why have cows not evolved to be horrible tasting so that we wouldn't want to eat them?

ive always wondered where words came from? who spoke them first and called them the name they have, who invented spellings of words? and who said they where spelt right?..............and yes i do have an over active imagination

WillowTheWhisp 12-01-2007 22:06

Re: weird thoughts....

Spellings have changed over the years. You only have to look at Chaucer and things like 'ye olde englishe toffee shoppe' Even Shakespeare couldn't make his mind up how to spell his name.

you only have to look back 100 years to see a big difference

Seemingly, if we were allowed to step on a time machine to the 16th century, wouldn't be able to tell a word anybody said as sounds/accents have also evolved rapidly.

I would love to step on a time machine and go back,
Because you can hardly understand what any of the new yokels are saying at the present.
Wherever you go It's like visiting a foreign country.
