New Panopticon for Hyndburn

Exciting news, talks have reopened regarding a Panopticon for Hyndburn. It's hoped that following the success of all the others around Pennine Lancashire, that Accrington's Panopticon will be bigger, brighter and quite possibly even louder than all the others. How's that for good news?

More details to follow as soon as I find out.

By the way Gayle thought the halo was supposed to be turned off at 11pm - it was still lit up at 11.15 last night!!!

Panopticons – New landmarks for the 21st century

It's a long story but you could always have a hunt for the old thread about it on here.

do a search on accyweb for it, you will soon find out, if you really, really want to!

Hey Em , if it weren't for the short sighted ness of some folk we would have our own panopticon on Coppice, instead of the mess that is there now.
The Atom at Wycollar looks nice too.

I recently went up to Haslingden, whilst there took a look at the panoptican .I think that's what they call them. I have to say I was quite impressed with it.

Does anybody know anything about it. Was it Rossendale Council who put it there?
