Did seem strange that 3 Labours Councillors held the meeting in a Tory club :)

I think the Labour club might have been more appropriate :)

Never knew there was a Labour club in Rishton, there were a few Working men's clubs, in fact I actually think the title of Rishton Con is The Conservative and Working Mens Club, The Harmonic, Rishton Free Gardeners, Think there was A British Legion, but can never remember a designated Labour Club, the only Labour Club I can remember was the one near the bottom of Willows Lane Accy, which I think is now Called Platts

That's right, John. The Harmonic is sadly long gone, as is the Liberal Club. We now have a Working Men's Club, the Con Club, Cricket Club, Free Gardeners and the Sports and Social Club (formerly the British Legion). As far as I am aware there has never been a Labour club in Rishton.

We chose the Conservative Club primarily because it is a good venue and near to where most of the people who will be affected live. The management are very accommodating and to be honest the political aspect of it doesn't really come into it as the club isn't really like that any more.

Added to that, whether you are Labour, Conservative or other the money all spends the same over the bar....

Must have been the Legion I was thinking of. Thinking that was the Labour Club.

I've always said if Tory clubs catered for just Tory supporters they all have shut years ago

If you see them again Mick please pass on my regards to them both.

Lovely people, and it doesn't suprise me that T.C. is just trying to struggle on, without complaining.

Salt of the earth, them two.
