Hope your Spug has a good trip, back up north of the border.

See you soon, and remember always to shout.

'Oi, Rindy, you ignorant git!'

I'm usually looking down, to make sure I don't stand on a nick.

I'm superstitious, and don't want to marry a stick, with a witch coming to our wedding.

:D

so im not invited to the wedding then ..... :p:p:p

G....got it wrong.
If you step on a nick, you'll marry a stick..... and a beetle will come to your wedding!

No no no... it's a brick not a stick - and yes, a beetle!

It was definitely a stick, and witch in Ossy.

There's only rude, 'no more autographs' little Ringo, and conker coloured mop-top Paul left.

If they turned up at mine and Twiggy's do, I might need Susie's brick.

I was actually stood on Broadway, waiting for someone, moments after meeting Shillelagh, pondering about the phrase we used to hear for something very unlikely, similar to joining a circus.

'Run off with a black man.'

Happily not used often nowadays, for something that's nearly beyond belief.

Probably some of these sayings were brought back from various wars.

Like 'dirty arab'. Usually said to little boys, diggin' for tatas, up their nose.

This afternoon I met StevieR and his lovely wife in the Victoria on Manchester Road - he's recently joined the forum and we had a good chat about some of the posts - very nice to see him and keep on posting Steve!

If someone asked where Ma was, my dad used to say 'up back o' Gatty on a nail'
sometimes he used to say she had run off with the pop man....sometimes that she had run off with a black chap.
