What does your avatar say about you?
 

When you choose an avatar do you think 'What impression of me do I want to give?'
or do you think 'that's trendy/novel?'
or some other reason, such as showing a photo of your child, pet, or favorite celeb because they are important to you.

I have noticed that other members reaction to postings can be influenced by avatars.
It is inevitable that this happens, because your facial signals and body language cant be seen here, and the visual image of your avatar is the only visual signal available.

I want to give the impression of a quirky, elderly,homely woman with a sense of humour (which is what I aspire to be).
That is why I have used Les Dawson in curlers and my current one of 3 old biddies in Last of the Summer Wine.

So have you given your avatar much thought lately?
If you are getting aggro responses to your posts - perhaps you should.

Mine right now is my old home in Clayton {thanks Kate** .... I don't know if it says anything about me, but I like looking at it. I also have it on my desk top .... maybe it's a "roots" thing.

I Have thought about this before Margaret, i put allsorts as my avatar (whatever i fancy, at the time i fancy a change) although i tend not to choose ones that similar to others' avatars because it could be confusing as to who posted (i look at avatars rather than screen names to see who has posted).
I love looking at people avatar's-as you say its what we get to see instead of the actual person.

For people who haven't met you, your avatar might convey the same - 'a wolf with a cheeky grin' :D

I've met cashy and I think the same Margaret, a cheeky chappy full of fun and likes a laugh, a man after my own heart, as for my avatar, I'll let youmake your own minds up about that, but I think Meek and Mild is just about right:D:rolleyes:

Hiya Ernie,
He looks like an older verison of my little lad (hes 7). You dont find better friends than our four legged ones do you. Sorry about your loss, he looks lovely.

Mine is simple enough.

It is me saying hello, pointing out that I am British, how many people tend to view old folk and having served my country in the Royal Navy.
