Tight budget? We went to a wedding once where the bride and groom had hundreds of friends and absolutely no money. They had a small reception in the afternoon, about 12 people, then an evening "do" for about 200. It was in a pub so the guests could buy their own drinks and the food they provided was great big dishes of crisps and nuts and her mum cooked a shedload of chipolatas and stuck them on cocktail sticks. This was in the days when the "cockle man" still came round to pubs in the evenings and when he came they bought almost his entire stock and passed it round.

It was the most unusual and un-weddingy wedding I've ever been to but I really enjoyed it. :D

When I first saw this thread I was thinking I had less than 2 weeks to save him.
