Someone asked me the other day how many items of black clothing I owned.

They refused to believe that I have none, and I never have in the past.

Blue is my staple colour.

I'll never go Back to Black, no mater what Amy Winelodge says.

I'm left handed but a little while ago I started to carry my own cup in my right hand.If I'm
carrying two I still make sure mine is in my right hand.I don't know why, I'm not superstitious, but if I get it wrong I feel quite concerned and change hands!
Is this the first signs of something?

I'm not one to worry you, but...

My dominant hand is my right, six years ago I started holding a cigarette in my left hand.

Three months later I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, affecting my dominant side firstly, as is the norm.

As I say, don't worry.

Sounds like you're just superstitous.

Either that or you'd prefer to spill the other person's tea, rather than your own.

If I brew up for the two of us, my cup always has to be on the left. If I put sugar in the left one by mistake ( I don't take sugar ) I have to swap them round straight away before putting the water in :D

I own a left handed cork screw, a left handed potato peeler, am right handed and never drink alcohol or touch 'fresh fries'.

Oh, also, I, like one of our older hippies, NEVER lie, Strange, rather than odd is how I view myself, but please, if you're going to start a poll, Is Less strange or Odd? Please don't leave it open, leave me with the thought that at least one friend didn't answer it rather than discovering they are all out for revenge.

(It's usually around this point a Blonde Bum shell comes on attempting to lower my esteem).;)

I nearly always wore black when I was out, black slacks, black blazer, or leather jacket, now I just wear footy shirts and black tracky bottoms

some people tell me I'm odd, but I don't quite know what they mean...other than I am reluctant to follow the herd.

I prefer to see myself as 'unique'.(much more flattering and smacks less of mental instability)

He might have been once over of a day, but he has now retired(hurt) from that career....someone mentioned something about googlies...or was it goolies....:)I forget now. Well, I am of that age.

Oh, and my oddity: whenever I open a deck of smokes, I take one cigarette out, and replace it "filter down." This is "my last smoke". And it is the last one that I smoke out of the deck.:confused:

The Generic term for Scousers, in particular the Youth of said fair City whose tendency to dress in "Trackies" of varying hues (but with a predominance of Black amongst males, females preferring the more lighter tones of White & Pink, brand being optional but preferably a designer label :D) & as an outward display of undying loyalty to their home City a football Top of either the Blue or Red, persuasion (Everton /Liverpool).

Other "Club Tops" are occasionally worn by would be "Scallies" but only by those deemed "mental" or with a short life expectancy (Man.U is practically banned & considered extremely bad taste ;) on a par with peeing through someones letter box !) hereby endeth the short treatise on the City of Liverpool & its' Denizens.

As to the Smoke thing, I remember Lads in the Military who used to do that this was their last "Gasper" & as a point of smokerist etiquette was not to be taken when Cigs were handed round ! :)

Good explanation.

Scallies call scallies who don't have a scouse accent, people from St. Helens for instance, 'wooly backs'. Though I've never particulary thought of St. Helens as being some sort of idyllic pastoral pleasureland myself.

Oddly, in Scotland scallies are called 'wee neds', and around the Thames estuary 'townies'.

These names predate the term chav by a generation or so. Which oddly could make them chavs' grandads.
