Happy 144th Birthday ....

Happy Birthday Canada:theband: :cake:... Well, it's tomorrow, July 1, but I intend to get in on the celebrations which will start tonite. Tomorrow's a holiday so the party starts, well, now ... he pops the top off a Lancaster Bomber .... ahhhhh:thepint:It's my last one; but I have a fridge full of Canadian beer, Sleeman's Cream Ale ... good stuff ... and some Crown Royal rye. And some good weed from the great province of British Columbia.;):D I've lived in this wonderful country for almost 44 years; and Canada Day is a good day for me to kick back and celebrate how lucky I am to be Canadian. I am sure that all Accy area expats who live here would agree that it doesn't get any better than Canada.

And the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be in Ottawa for the celebrations ... at our expense of course.;)

I don't want to deter you from celebrating - but what do the indigenous native population think of this 'celebration' ? - They were inhabitants for quite a while  before the british conquest and occupation.

First Nations will be celebrating too. Was on Tyendenaga Res yesterday, home of the Bay of Quinte Mohawks, Maple Leaf flags etc. everywhere.:D But it is a celebration of the signing of the British North America Act, when Canada became a Dominion. And it's a great excuse for a damn fine party; and the weather here will be great.:D:D:D

What a party:eek: Went down to Ottawa, and I had a quiet, sophisticated evening with another 300,000 happy, drunken Canadians:alright::alc: There were a couple of limeys there from Cambridge, or that might have been their name:confused:;):D They seemed to have a great time too.

And great news for Canadians: the last of our combat troops, the Royal 22e, will all be home from Kandahar by the middle of the month.:theband:
