John, you definitely need a visit to Specsavers if you think Wayne Rooney is anything even faintly resembling pretty.
He wouldn't even be pretty if you were clocking him in braille!
He has a face like a dropped pie!

Barrie, I was very successful at my chosen career.
OK...I didn't get anything like the salary that he is paid, but I was definitely worth it...and I like to think that I made a difference in the lives of the ladies I looked after.

I disagree plenty on here have probably been successful in their careers, just not as well paid.

That match has been fixed. A player for Yorkshire will let his captain and side down.
Put your money on it.

Yeah ... I've been reading about that match fixing scandal ... it makes one angry to think that such a beautiful game as Medieaval warfare has become so tainted. I mean, the strategy, the melee, and of course the rout, pursuit, the slaughter of the vanquished and the wounded ... not to mention the mayhem wreaked on the peasants ... amazing stuff.:dancedog: But there is probably big bucks to be made in betting on it. Some games are probably on the level; that wonderful contest at Towton was probably clean. But that international with the French at Azincourt ... something fishy there;) I think that Jean Le Maingre was paid to throw the game.:D

Yes, Agincourt was fixed, Eric,- by the English with a couple of thousand bodkin points.
The French protested it wasn't fair play( they always do when they lose) but if there was a referee he'd run for it by then so the protest was over-ruled by the English and after a while the French stopped protesting(there's only one way to shut a Frenchman up).

That's one way of looking at the match. I think the French came to the game having it in their power to win, or to lose. As is common with the frogs, they opted to lose. They were strong on the wings; they had depth; they had a powerful midfield. Admittedly, the Genoese forwards they bought didn't have the power or the speed of the English; but they would have opportunities once the English attack had exhausted itself. So the French chose to go for an all out attack ... a suicide choice. It worked in 1191 ... but its surprise effect was no longer a factor;):D
