What experience do you have? I know a lot of places that need staff at moment just need to know what experience you have.

Re: Job!

Might be an idea to give a bit more info speedy as to what places want staff - there plenty of people whom want jobs & will actively get off their bums to get one, some more here maybe be looking to fill staff vacancies but dont know where - plus help those employers fill their vacancies with the help of word or mouth:D Win win situation all round should it help Jae or someone else here looking for work & the employers after needed staff.

Well most of the pubs and clubs in town need bar staff for over christmas. Lots of warehouse work going at the moment through agencies (check jobcentre plus website). Many of the shops in town have vacancies advertised in the window. Really aint difficult to find a job at this time of year.

Never trying through an agency again they don't help at all..

Your obviously using wrong agencies then. I got job through one yesterday, so did my cousin. Try cummins mellor, hi-flyers, workforce recruitment, and TMS. Just a few of the agencies i have used and found really good.

LOL, why the hell would you look for a job when you have one?

Somehow I don't believe you..

Tried half of them you listed, bag of 'You-Know-What'...

The agencies are better than the job centre. What are you going to do, wait for somebody to come knocking on the dooor ?

No.

I'd rather go into places myself and give my CV than agencies that are supposed to help you find work..

But they dont.

Thet dont help in the slightest, I've more a chance being blind and deaf and finding a job in a call center than finding a job through an agency.

I'm guessing you're already in work?

If you wasn't then you'd know.

Rochdale is a good 1.5hrs bus ride on the 464, bit of a long way without any motorbike or car as for North Manchester, I live in Oldham and to get to Middleton can take between 30 as the bus timetable says and 1hr if traffic is bad and bad is the normal state of affairs here.
To be fair agencies sometimes offer a permanent position for the right person thats how i got my current job.
Plus there have been other people that at my place that have got permanent employment through this agency.
JobcentrePlus is a waste of time though but still use them as you never know your luck.

I been looking for another job for a while. Need more hours than what i was getting at sayers. Start at warehouse in clayton tomorrow, but still going to fit in shifts at sayers whenever i can. Need to make some real money now, sick of using my overdraft all time and need to start saving up. Trust me at this time of year agencies are the best way to find work. If you follow any of the advice given on here you will have a job in no time(i found a job less than a month after asking for advice on here).

Speedy what rate of pay would you earn at your age? last time I was on an agency, I started on £5.80ph and when I joined my present employer me wages dropped to £5.64ph, not sure what min wage is for a 27yr old is at minute.

But on the whole agency work sometimes pays better then say 'a normal employer` especially for temp work at this time of year, so I'd get stuck in whilst I could.

Certainly better then dole at any rate.
