voluntarily

Hi,
When i am older i would like to have a career which invloves health and social care,
last week i was talking to my career's adviser,
and he said it would be good if i could find a job, but done voluntarily, such as,
charity shops,
helping people in their house and so on,
unfortunatly charity shops have full staff at the moment,
so if you have a few ideas on what i could do,
it would be helpful
thanks

Re: voluntarily

find a sheltered accomodation with a community centre like that in Spring Hill on Fairfield street. Speak to who runs that and they will be able to help. I did something similar albeit a long time ago. I ended up going shopping etc for them each Saturday to the butchers and the like.

You could also maybe speak to the people in Age Concern to see if they run any form of scheme where people can volunteer.

Other than that I know of a car that needs a good wash! :D

I worked voluntarily at Sense charity shop in Accrington on Sundays. I can't believe they're fully staffed, they're always looking for more volunteers. Pop in and ask.

you could try social services, they need people to take young people who have learning problems out and about..... say to the pub or flicks that kind of thing, and you will get expenses... plus you will be doing a worth while job:

good luck magpie
