TESCO - Great Harwood
 

Bit of a heads up for those looking to get into employment.

TESCO in Gt Harwood will be recruiting staff for their new store due to open in November.

The recruitment will begin week commencing 03/10/11. 100+ jobs, full time and part time up for grabs and will all be advertised on Careers - Tesco Careers which is the only place you will be able to apply for one of these jobs.

As soon as they have enough applications, they will remove the vacancies!

Keep your eyes open from Monday!!
As soon as they release the exact date, I will update.

First we had Aldi opening a store in Great Harwood. Then came Morrisons. Now Tesco will be opening before the end of the year. It's all happening in 'arrod, but it will be interesting to see what effect all this will have on the smaller local businesses.

Apparently they are having IT issues & are hoping they will be on middle of next week.

They have a job for a pharmacy manager and pharmacist at the gt harwood store online so it must be soon for all the other jobs

it does say though that the application must be in by 31st dec 2011, so dont know what thats about

They are advertising for people in the cafe at Blackburn if anyone is interested?
Nothing for the Gt Harwood store as yet.

i applied for one of the jobs online today and got an automatic response acknowledging that i'd sent in the application online....so we'll see


by the way, there's quite a few jobs going at Blackburn Asda too, i applied for several of those today n'all

Ive completed 6 applications to them, each one saying they will contact me with the outcome of my application. Someone working for the jobcentre said with tesco always put on applications you are available for all hours and days or you wont even be considered, then when you have been accepted arrange times you can work. Dnt know if this will help anyone but just a bit of info :)

I keep forgetting to take my passport to work to prove I can legally work for them - I have only been there for 4 1/2 years. It is a legal requirement now.

Went extremely well, one on one interview, very relaxed, 5 questions, i was only in for 30 minutes, they will let me know in the next 10 days, the interviewer said he'd never met anyone as confident and as bubbly as me (that might not go in my favour)

Applied for another job as kiosk assistant a Tesco in Harwood, had to turn the other one down because it was only 10 hours a week, not enough for me to be able to get wftc, went to see the lad who inteviewed me the other day and he's passing my notes onto customer services and said i should be guaranteed an interview with them because my interview with him went so well, we shall see

Nope, didn't even get an interview for the kiosk job, the lad who interviewed me for the grocery job said i'd be guarenteed and interview, my advisor at bootstrap said she thinks it's a postcode thing, like it was in Accy, i don't think that, i wouldn't have got the first interview if that had been the case....i got an email Friday saying they weren't taking my application any further, it's reet, onwards and upwards

well there aint very many Lancastrians employed in accys new Tesco.

Its ridiculous you have to prove you can legally work in this country, even though you were born and bred in this country.

My Mrs had a telephone interview with O2 and because she didn't have her birth certificate they wouldn't progress her application, as they wanted her to go for an interview in store within 24 hours, she couldn't have got a replacement in time.

Probably another EU ruling!

Almost half of the new jobs have gone to local people who were previously unemployed this is statement from tesco why only almost half its a joke so rest of them are in work why give them a job if they have got one what about people who have no job or cant get jobseekers

I am going to have a wild guess that some of the staff will have been moved from other stores so they don't have a completely new work force with no experience.

If this is true it may have created opening at other local Tesco stores.
