3D Panoramic Pics
Went to my parents for tea in clayton today. On the walk back I took the canal route and decided to test out the 3D panoramic option that is on my new phone to take a few pics...

Re: 3D Panoramic Pics
Do you have to pan the camera when you take the photos, or does it have a wide-angle lens?

Some great photos Restless

Re: 3D Panoramic Pics
I have just sold one of my cameras which had a panoramic setting. You have to take a photo and move slowly round until two squares line up and it automatically takes another, the do it again.
A few seconds later the camera stitches all three together and the results are not too bad. The best about the setting is that it doesn't finish up with the curved affect. The results with your phone Restless are not bad at all, phones are improving every day |
Re: 3D Panoramic Pics
You have to pan the camera, which may have made me look weird to anybody that was watching. It can be quite difficult to get it all the way without getting a grey area or it not taking a picture at all. Especially with my shaky hands.
I think perhaps you can get this 3D option as an app on other android phones-- Though im not sure about that Quote:

restless you set me off down an avenue I have ignored up to now, that is my camera has a 360* option but I have ignored it up till now.So without reading the instruction book on how to do it (men know how to do stuff, they dont need to read instructions) I gave it a go.
Never manage to go the full 360*, best I got was 180* first picture M65 bridge over canal to rileys swing bridge. second picture Rileys swing bridge facing clayton. third picture a man outstanding in his field, hidden in centre of picture Dunkenhalgh Hotel, and off to the right another motorway bridge (65) |
Re: 3D Panoramic Pics
Good results there davemac.
I was told by a professional camera man how to get good results when doing panoramic shots or videos. Twist your body and head to where you want to finish the shot then turn back to where you you want to start but keep your feet still. That way when you get half way round you don't start to shuffle your feet to get to the finish. |
Re: 3D Panoramic Pics
thats a good idea, will try that next time.

Re: 3D Panoramic Pics
It can be quite difficult to get one of these pictures out of my android phone. I kinda did what Gremlin suggested when I was testing different ways of panning the camera. I don't know if its my shaky hands or just that it is difficult in general. Mostly I seem to get 1/4 grey area.
Some great pics there. Thanks for sharing |

Had another go, this time putting my feet on the finish spot before starting, had to choose the 180* option otherwise I would have done myself a mischief on 360*.
This one is another man outstanding in his field, the field is facing Whalley Nab, with the Whalley Viaduct slightly left of centre. It would be interesting to know what equipment other people use to take pictures with. My equipment is Fujifilm Finepix F500EXR. |

just a few more , will give someone else a chance after these.
1. River hyndburn again, trig point in centre. 2. River again, motorway bridge to left, and boss in the middle. 3. Stood on bridge Church Kirk, Rishton in the centre far away. 4. Stood with back to church (St. James), follow left footpath to end and the black shape is the halfway point on the Leeds-Liverpool canal. For some reason the last one showes bigger, I did resize it though. |
