Just a selection of flowers around the farm this morning. The Lagerstroemia (tree with pink flowers) burst into flower over the last couple of days. It is literally humming with bees! There are some unusual flowers which my neighbour has planted including a rose with variegated petals which I've never seen before. My favourite has to be the lavender though, smells gorgeous and I love the shabby, distressed backdrop!

Have looked for my photo of hollyhocks but to no avail -I lent it to my mum as a subject for her to paint and I suspect she didn't give it back. Here are two photos showing what she produced from the photos to give an idea. The small oval version is a water-colour she made into a card and the larger one is done in pastels. I have them both framed and up in the hallway!

Nice paintings, The thing about lending photos is the longer they have them the easier it is to forget that they borrowed them. I scanned all my old photos into the computer, and burnt them to CD so I have a copy.

Today folks, we leave Fyn behind, board the boat & sail to the Island of Aero. :)

An old Smoker in Svendborg - Svendborg as we leave - Danish customs at Marstal - Colour in Marstal - Rise, the heart of the Island, the Aero Micro Brewery - Aeroskobing welcome - A dated charm, Aeroskobing - Leaving Aeroskobing.

Today in Pictures, Right around the wet bit.

1. Down to Calf Hey reservoir.
2. Its a bit down on water as they are filling the bottom reservoir after repairs.
3. Heading for the trees.
4. This tree thrives in a harsh environment, all the other trees are dwarfed by the winds.
5. This stream feeds into the reservoir.
6. So does this one.
7. And yet another feeder stream.
8. Looking in the other direction.
9. Time to head up the hill.
10. Last shot on the way out.

Thank you all - I feel like I've travelled all over the world this morning without leaving my couch. Lovely!

Lovely! Number six looks like a Calla Lilly, although I've only seen them in flower shops. The Lavender shot could be a painting - it's a great composition.

Nicely done - I particularly like the watercolour!

It looks lovely! I just looked on Google Earth for the Island of Aero - was struck by how close Denmark is to Scandinavia. My sense of geography has been sadly lacking.

What a marvellous landscape! I Google Earthed this one too. Pity I left England before I got to see places like this. The one with the two trees is a favourite. The bigger, flourishing one could be saying: "Come on, me little luv, don't give up!"
Well done capturing the butterfly.
