Thanks Frank, hope to be off again to the lakes on Monday in our camper, not used for two years. Should have been going today but Richard discovered he had another engagement tonight withh the Morris men, so we decided to give the weekend a miss, what with it being the school holidays as well. Hope the weather holds for us!

Enjoy the trip -whenever it starts. Some of the best family holidays we ever had were in a camper van -such freedom! :p xxx

Ah, Riggwelters! Surprising how something reasonable can come out of Yorkingshire. ;)

Today in Pictures, its a lot of wet bits, but not as wet as last time.

1. Dappled light along the top.
2. Remains of a bit of quarrying.
3. Same but looking back.
4. And now the wet bits.
5. The wet bits are the footpath.
6. At this point you get to know just how absorbent walking socks are.
7. But still comfortable.
8. Bit of a footpath off to the left.
9. A last low shot, just to get the gusset involved. Where did the brick come from.
10. With that we are back on Terra Firma and off to the car.

I took a mate to Todmorden today to watch all the vintage vehicles come through on the Pennine run.
I won't bore you with the lorry photographs but I showed him around the canal bank near the town centre and these are the photos I took.
No. 2 Part of the Great wall of Todmorden built 1841.
No. 5 Just behind the sign is a gate, my aunty lived in the house there and had to have a lock put on, every time my little brother went there he somehow got out and fell in the cut.
No. 6 The hole in the great wall.
No. 7 That's how far it is to places.

No. 9 I though the horseman was worth a look at.
No. 10 The Triumph Roadster, I had a bronze one in 1962 but lack of brakes meant a trip to the knackers yard.

Now I have to sort through the 180 photos I took of the vintage vehicles and watermark some of them for another forum.

Today in Pictures, a day of dramatic skies, and I hadn't a coat.

A walk around the Halo.

More Morris dancing pics. These are from last Frday at the Limeburners pub at Nether Kellett near Carnforth. John O Gaunt from Lancaster met up with a traveling team from the USA who were younger and very athletic - you know you're standing too close when you can feel the wind from their hankies, also a lot of my shots turned out blurred because the dancers were so athletic.

Anyway a selection of dances including Leapfrog and one reputedly very ancient three man one from Dolphinholme in Bowland which seems to involve lots of @ss kicking and dancing around on one leg.

Also a shot of the John O Gaunt musicians who aways look so miserable (NB Dianne Richard is wearing a different rather more decorative hat) and a couple of the US musicians plus a pic of a litte doggy with a jacket on...

Love those horses... and years ago I used to get a lift to work in a Roadster - took me right back!

Spotted him before reading what you'd written, Sue. While the flowers are sweet and quite fetching - the Panama has the edge, more enigmatic ;) :D

They have Morris dancers in our little Canada Day parade - always a highlight for me! Sadly, our 'strapping lads' are getting a little long in the tooth. Not like the young things in #3 and 4 :)

Today in Pictures, a wet walk thought the woodlands C-L-M.

1. There must have been a bit more rain overnight than I though, this is usually just a trickle.
2. Left untouched, a promising sign.
3. So is this.
4. Why the long face ?
5. Not many people out as its raining.
6. looking back down the path.
7. Time to turn around.
8. Almost back to the car.
9.& 10. This is what is causing the traffic jams at peak times and putting fences across my walks.

Did you notice that the horses are exactly in step with each other?

The Triumph Roadster I drove had glass on half the boot lid.
If you lifted the lid there were two seats there and the boot lid acted as a windscreen.
We used to be a bonny sight driving around Walsden in our Teddy boy suits with our current lady friends sat in the boot trying to keep their beehive hairdos in place.
It was always a pleasure to help them climb out of the boot.
Bring back the mini skirt.
