Today in Pictures, walking the bit where Clayton finishes and Gt. Harwood starts.

1. The bridge over the River Hyndburn that heads for Gt Harwood.
2. I reckon this is the split between the two.
3. Spooky.
4. I've walk around that weir from the other side.
5. The field over there is Clayton Fields.
6. At this point I question if shirt sleeves was such a good idea.
7. You cant tell where the trees finish and the pylons start.
8. At this point the heavens opened.
9. Back at the start point, a bit moister than when I started.

Today in Pictures, takes me to Rishton dip, and up to the Motorway.

1. Not sure if this is part of a footpath, the fields right in front of the Dunkenhalgh, notice the bovine pruning around the lower branches.
2. The reason I climbed over a locked gate, a fungi fest.
3. You can just make out the building through the trees.
4. That's the direction we are going.
5. The path that leads to the motorway.
6. You know the saying "when cows lie down........they are tired"
7. The wet bits and brown bits, but today,...... no moist bits.
8. One minute the sun is out.
9. Its like being in "World of Leather".
10. When I first started to walk this way (don't mention talcum powder) the River Hyndburn flowed along the far tree line

Love the trees in number 1. In the collage of 'shrooms -number 3 are very tasty -here they call them "chiodini" or "little nails" if you look at them you can see why. They need blanching in boiling water - then are nice with a rich tomato sauce with herbs, sausage and pork loin -typically served with polenta - it's delicious! :p

It never crosses my mind when I find them to think in terms of edibility, my mind is set in the "what is best photographically" option, that, and can I lie down without nettling my nutmegs.

Today in Pictures, on a day when I am coughing like a horse and stuff is coming down my nose that would not look out of place on Doctor Who. So with as much enthusiasm as I could muster Spring Wood was todays destination.

1. As you wood expect trees (see what I did there).
2. Now that we have had light frosts the leaves are falling.
3. It only seems two minutes that I was here looking for the late flowering Bluebells.
4. Clitheroe is in the distance.
5. A bit further around and you can see Longridge Fell in the distance.
6. Whalley to the left, and Longridge Fell further on.
7. Back on the trail.
8. Its downhill all the way from here.
9. To finish off fungi a go-go.
10. Soon the fungi will disappear when the frost gets heavy, what will I do with myself..

It would be nice to sleep at night, but I am coughing myself awake, so feel a bit like a wet window cleaners chamois at the moment. I just hope I have peaked and its better from here on in.
