Still no proper internet here - but will try to post a few pics from yesterday and today's walk. Was a relief to get out again after 5 days solid fog -thick enough to cut with a knife!
A few pics around the lane near my house - the medal is hanging on the sanctuary along with various other offerings! End of autumn colours - spot the heron in the fields on one photo -they remind me of little grey men sitting hunched up - can't get close enough to get a good shot with this camera... Found a beautifully restored villa attached to a crumbling old farm about a mile away -(8 &9) then a picture of the sun going down an my way home through the little copse of trees just up the lane.

Nice symmetrical dereliction in 7.

Today in Pictures, It was windy, cold, driving rain, and limited visibility, I gave up in the end, it was difficult to keep stood up.

1. Looking back down the lane I have just driven up, Haslingden at the bottom.
2. Gate posts long since stoned up.
3. In the distance past the gate post is Hameldon Hill, follow it left and you can see the trees on the Coppice.
4. The Halo, at this point the wind has got up, and the rain is now horizontal.
5. Leaning into the wind for stability, Haslingden below, with Helmshore just a bit further, and in the valley of the hills far away is Manchester.
6. As far as we go today, time to head back.
7. I did intend to wait until it went a bit darker to get the best of the lights, however the driving wind, the cold, and rain took the fun out of it, so a photo for another day.

I'm still in Jamaica (leaving tomorrow), but just had to try to post this one shot: for Dave Mac, a pair of Nutmegs (Tee Hee).

You don't have to explain, I think nutmegs about describes it to a T. I've just checked and they are the same.

Today in Pictures, a day of heavy cloud and blue bits.

1. I came all this way, and the sun is shining on my house.
2. The reservoir is just over that hill, but we go left.
3. Well...... we go left now.
4. You can just make out Dean Clough Reservoir, off centre to the right.
5. Churn Clough in a bit of the blue bit, it soon passed.
6. The recent rain has swollen the streams.
7. A boundary stone placed in 1892 by the Padiham and Hapton Local Board.
8. & 9. More stream shots.
10. Full circle, and time to head for the road.

Number 4 couldn't be bettered , so atmospheric .

I also like the colours in number 5 .

Nice blur effect on the running water, did you have to balance the camera on a rock for them.

Thanks, number 4 almost looks like a HDR picture, but its not, the colours in 5 are due to a brief waft of sunshine which passed over very quickly.

The blur effect was an exposure of 15 seconds and I had a small bendy tripod in my pocket, now that the light is going around 3.30pm I took it with me just in case.

Not something I have done a lot as I don't take a tripod out on a regular basis.
What with a new camera and learning from a forum for pictures, we will all have to watch out.
