1. Last seat available.
2. The brochure said it was a log cabin in a secluded spot.
3. In the distance is Clitheroe.
4. Its getting a bit dark.
5. I do love a lichen, but not enough to lick it, so remember, never lick a lichen you love.
6. Steep, slippery, muddy, and wet, so up we went.
7. I have stood here in the warmth of the sun, with shirt sleeves on(no shirt just sleeves), Today my teeth are chattering......... so I am thinking this pink frock was a mistake.
8. More wet slippery, muddy steps, its a wonder I don't slip...............:swear8:
9. The hump in the distance is Hameldon Hill, and the sky suggests home time.
10. Its only a trickle, but the only wet bit available.

Oh you intrepid soul! Thanks for the great shots. :)

Today in Pictures, not really a walk, more of a visit, then a mooch around.

1.The cul de sac part of Heys Lane, the stream flows under the bridge and into the River Hyndburn.
2. The stream in question, I don't know its name.
3. The River Hyndburn, flowing toward Whalley Road.
4. Same location, but looking upstream.
5. The point of the visit, a topic on another site mentioned this bridge, and as I hadn't seen it for donkeys years it went on my list of places to go and see.
6. 7. & 8. differing view points.
9. Lovers Leap, ........well it could be.
10. Heading back to the car, a look back down the lane.

The bridge in question is located just around the bend as the River Hyndburn passes under the road, and just behind the Hyndburn Bridge public house.

Have winged it over to Tenerife to use my mum's wireless connection so at last some more photos from me. Mum's birthday today -we had lobster at the fish restaurant in La Caleta. Lovely views, fab food, sunshine and the company of my beloved parents - now that does make me smile. :) Saw some interesting hikers who made me think of the three kings, a dog on a roof, then spotted a beautiful flower on the lemon tree in the garden. Happy New Year all - just a few days late!

Looks like your weather's a damn site better than what we're getting here at the present. :)

It looks like a great place to be, especially to be reunited with your parents! That must have been quite a feast, although I can't face lobsters if they come on the plate looking at me like that Hah Hah.

Diane, your Mum looks amazing....please give her my best wishes and tell her she is fondly remembered.

That sunshine would work wonders for me.

Today in Pictures, a walk on the canal tow path, at Altham.

1. Not much light today, just heavy looking clouds.
2. Living with a view of Pendle Hill.
3. The motorway of the industrial age kisses the motorway of today.
4. Well.....that's going to roast my chestnuts.
5. Cloudy skies.
6. Times gone by.
7. As far as we go, a rusty cast iron bridge(well I think its cast).
8. Almost back at the start point, and its going dark again,
9. The view from the bridge.

A few pics from down the canal & jacksons field.
1. What you looking at?
2. Will you stand still for just one second.
3. Thanks.
4. Leave them alone.
5. This could be from Hilda Ogdens wall.
6. A bit later on I`ll encounter gunfire, but for now, top left goose drops a bomb,
7. And to end all todays excitement, some peaceful swans.

Nice capture of the birds, especially in flight, not one of my strong points.

Thanks Dave, I`ve been practising with the flying birds. Got loads where you can`t even tell what kind of bird it is.

How mean of the landowners to electrify the style! I envy them their view of Pendle, though. Lovely reflections in 7.

I think we all have photos that didn't turn out as expected, perhaps that's a new thread in itself, "What went wrong". I have more than a few shots of my boots and up my nose, but that's just clumsiness.

I really like the duck photo, and the swans. Your doggies seem to lead a great life!
