They love their walkies, unfortunately, this time of year means weekends are the only time I can let them have a good run around. It`s too dark by the time I get home from work, so they have to stay on the lead.

I have a great photo of my walking stick as I went up the Lion and the Lamb near Grasmere -was a real slog of a climb...:D

Looks like I am not the only one who takes these random shots, I have more than a few of my gormless face looking into the lens to see if its clean.

...and here it is!

I kept it as it reminded me of how darn hard the climb was. The photo caption reads "A mate during the struggle uphill"

It was definitely worth the effort once you got to the top though.

I think the camera was probably hanging from my wrist

Today in Pictures, It was a damp, dismal day and muddy underfoot, so that's muddy strides and a dog dirty well passed his plimsoll line.

1. Some fungi still bursting out in between the cold bits.
2. Have you met our Ivy.
3. Is it me, or is it a bit scary.
4. Life on a fence post.
5. A muddy ascent.
6. The visibility is getting worse, how do you get to that seat ?
7. One side of the viaduct.
8. And the other.
9. And the top, there are talks about getting this footpath opened again.
10. On the way back, there are lots of people using the golf links, but not here.

Some nice shots there, did you use a tripod ? That viaduct is a good subject.

My old cameras night pics were terrible, a lot better with this one. It has a hand held twighlight mode which is what I used to take these.

Thanks, did a couple last week and they seemed OK and as I was going out anyway to pick up my daughter, I thought I`d have another go. Planned to get B`burn cathedral as well but she rang to tell me she was finishing early so didn`t have time.

Its easier to take night snaps in the winter as its dark around teatime, however the days are now slowly getting longer which makes night shots and sunsets a bit harder to get. Still the nights getting shorter gives us the warm days to look forward to.
