I just set the camera on mutli shot, about 10 per second with one click, I focus on the batsman and keep one eye on the bowler and as his arm comes over to bowl press the shutter and hold it down. I usually manage to get at least one good action shot. The two below were taken as I passed Todmorden Cricket ground. I just looked through the open gate and clicked away. No. 3 A man asked for a photo of his dog so I obliged and emailed it to him (picture not dog) No. 4 A fairground traction engine in the BCVM Leyland. No. 5 My effort at artistic photography, not my cup o' tea. No. 6 Big wheel on traction engine. No. 7 A view I saw a lot in the interior mirror when I drove the coach, a Leyland Tiger Cub. No. 8 Who remembers when poser lorry drivers had these on the cab roof. no. 9 More clowning around with the camera this morning. No. 10 The state of today's N.H.S. Now they are uploaded I can get on with my breakfast. I brewed coffee for Kate the gardener and got my basin out ready for my weetabix (other cereals are available in my cupboard). Then I put my teabag in the basin, wasted hot water and tea bag, start again Russell you plonker. That's when I decided on Ribena instead of tea. |

Today, Himself and I did something impulsive.....we went to Manchester.
OK...so not that impulsive then....but for us it was out of the ordinary. I haven't a lot of variety for you....sorry. The Manchester Wheel has appeared in Picadilly Gardens. I am not sue if this is a new thing....but today the wheel did not look operational.......so whether it has just been put up I know not(but am happy to be enlightened). So here are my offerings for today. 1) Lunchtime in Picadilly Gardens. 2) workers soaking up the sun. 3) two cars set against the blue sky....Manchester? Surely not! 4) The Manchester Wheel. 5) Sssshhh! Walls have.......ice lollies :D 6) Pigeons perched on a tin tree> Why would you have a tin tree in the centre of a city? Are Real ones not good enough for city pigeons? 7,8 and 9) More pics of the wheel...different angles. 10) Welcome to Rainbowland. |
Re: Today in pictures
I suppose you guessed....I like the Wheel!

Well if it was....it isn't working. The pigeons looked completely at home perched on it.

Mainly for our Gremlin, a few more from the week-end as mentioned. :)
Up close to an old Bulldog (Lanz) - A Tracked Tractor - A proper bogged in Hanomag, if only he'd taken the half track option - Moto Guzzi "Truck" x 3 - Taunuses/Tauni x 3 - Fokker? No mate, definitely a Messerschmitt! :D |
Re: Today in pictures
D.i.G. thanks for those lovely nature photographs, proper country scenes.
I like the Meckem**** and trailer, unusual combination, it must turn over very easily. Do you know if the Guzzi is a one off or are there more. Get one restored, put a settee on the back and it would make a decent mode of transport for getting the leg less home from the Railway. |

I am not that stupid Frank, I want to live another day.

Re: Today in pictures
I've only ever seen a photo of a bullet leaving a gun. The tutor at College had one.
