You've caught me out T,it's all fake,it's a conspiracy :D.
Cheers, I really like that shot too :)

Cool pics (pun intended)....-28 is that a Polar vortex or a arctic cyclone :D

Makes me wonder why I need my jacket at a mere -2 ;)

It's a cold front coming in on the heels of the Alberta Clipper ... or, plain and simple, brass monkey weather.;)

Today in Pictures, there is very little snow around here, so we went looking for it, and found it. Plus finding a new path, the "I wonder where that goes" very quickly turned into "I wonder where we are".

1. The environment is so harsh, is it any wonder trees grow on a slant.
2. Long ago they took the time to put walls either side of the cart track.
3. There are more walls than you can throw a stone at, if you could find one.
4. All the dwellings that used to be serviced by this cart track are now just remnants of their former glory.
5. This is Calf Hey and Mulberry heights, we ricocheted off to the right, and into an area never trod by me before.
6. A complex of buildings succumbing to the effects of gravity over a long period of time.
7. I am traversing untrodden snow, and it makes that squeaky cheese noise.
8. Looking back is Calf Hey and Ogden reservoirs, so I know what is behind, its forward that is uncertain.
9. We are travelling along a reasonably trodden path, however the footprints are all going in the other direction.
10. At this point I know I have to head for the tree line over to the right, so it looks like a hike through the fields.

Today in Pictures a less energetic outing today, but a cold experience enhanced by the snow.

1. Here you can see 10 of the twelve turbines.
2. I think I am developing a dry stone wall obsession.
3. Most of the snow you see is untrodden, give me a bit more time and I can remedy that.
4. Time for my bloater paste sandwiches and tic-tac water.
5. They are amongst us.
6. I am getting a strange urge to make a large mountain out of mashed potatoes.
7. Another sett of turbines in the distance.
8. On a clear day you can see jodrell bank, and the skyscrapers of Manchester.
9. Reading the inscription and another close by I am aware that some families have to deal with tragedies within families.
10. And with that we head back down a very icy lane to the car.

The lay of the land is so clearly visible in your winter scenes. I love seeing the rolling hills and valleys :)

Chilly Sunday morning on the canal bank at Oswaldtwistle with snow on the tops at Green Howarth just visible.
Crested grebe (duck?) I think not a native species?
The kingfisher at Church landing was just too quick for me.
Great that the little cafe at Rishton bridge has reopened for a welcoming brew too :)

Number 3 is anothe fantastic shot, though they are all lovely...that one takes the cake for me.
