Nice patterns in the ice in #5! It it wasn't for the snow on yonder hill, it could almost be spring :)

A couple from yesterday, the calm before the storm. Then today's delights: a good foot of snow, and over my knees in the drifts. Lots of shovelling, but took time to snap a few.

Today in Pictures, I set off thinking Pendle Hill would be covered in snow, I arrived to find it was on the decline... Still there was enough to get a wet and cold knee.

1. It was only a short visit, so concentrated on the gates and walls.
2. In its day Pendle was divides into sections over the bits able to be farmed.
3. Looking across the valley the Trough of Bowland still has snow, in the valley Clitheroe is off to the right.
4. Whoever marked out the route of this particular wall must have used a snake.
5. Back at the gate again, with the Trough again.
6. I do find this gate with all the dry stone walls converging photogenic.
7. Once a cart track over the tops.
8. Right that's it, enough of the gate, its time to go.

Maybe "putain neige" would have been better;) ... and when it warms up a little ... say, around May ... I'll take pics of icicles from the melting snow on my roof.

Both seem rather strong, almost as if your annoyed at the snow ;)

Perhaps 'neige sanglante' would be more appropriate :D

Where were you some three years ago Jason....?I saw loads of icicles. Haven't seen any this year, but only because I haven't looked.
I bet there are icicles in Ma's backyard right now....but I haven't been out back.....already had one fall......i don't want to risk my old bones again.
Might not be lucky enough to fall on something soft next time.
