Cheers D, Rowlands Gill is somewhere I visit occasionally through work, I make sure I have a bit of time while I'm there to try for some red kite pics.

I set it on a low setting but I could have had the same photo range from dark to very bright.
The middle photo was the one I set the camera for and the others were two over and two under exposed.
The plate was given to my mother in 1938 by her mother. My mum died in 1948 and is one of only two things of hers I posses, apart from lots of photos.

Looks like the main course in an upscale nouveau cuisine restaurant.;)

There is a farm in Rhayder which has a large hide on it and each day at 4 pm the farmer comes with a tractor and throws shovels full of meat for the red kites and buzzards.
The air is thick with them as soon as they hear the tractor coming.
We stayed in a cottage on the farm for a week three years ago and I posted a few photos sometime back.

Used to run the Rhayader 20 in training for the London Marathon. Fabulous route taking in the Elan Valley too.

Try having a play with your white balance settings you'll probably be able to get rid of the orange tint we get with night pics. I like no. 2 btw.

Cheers,I was wondering how to get rid of that Orange glow created by the sodium floodlights we have everywhere...I'm not sure if my camera has a white balance setting though I'll have to check

No2 is also my fave from that set,it's a 30sec exposure with the ISO set at 200....exposures are one thing I've found my camera is particularly good for :)

I'm sure the camera will have it, but it can also be done later, I leave the camera wb set to auto then do adjustments in Lightroom.

I took about 5 more shots but the Orange colour was so overpowering I didn't bother uploading them....thanks for the pointers,I'll have a look for the WB setting next time.

I assume you've got to set it to low to filter out the Orange? :)

What software do you have, I'm out now till about 4 o clock but will put it through Lightroom later if you like and see what it looks like after and tell you the changes I made.
