These were taken before, during and after a "clay run" - a trip to the pottery supply company to get supplies. The weather was bright and sunny, but quite cold with a stiff wind.

You'll notice that most of them were taken through the car window. I wasn't about to stop to get out, given that the shoulders of the road were deep in snow. We passed a couple of unfortunate souls who had ventured too close to the side of the road and got stuck.

Back at the guild and later at home, I did get my hands cold to get a couple of snow shadow shots.

Moody, broody and decidedly wet Cheddar Gorge this morning, had to make a detour on the journey home this morning for a case of the delightful punning ales and some Natural Blue Cheddar cheese. :D

For those who are interested there is suppose to be a eclipse next month. And not just any old eclipse:-
"Europe's biggest solar eclipse since 1999 is on its way next month - and 84 per cent of sunlight could be blocked out over London"

Solar eclipse could see 84% of sunlight blocked out over London | Daily Mail Online
I remember looking at the 1999 one through bundles of old negatives ...

It was great to see it "sans" crowds Margaret, I had it virtually to myself a pity it was too wet to go up Cufic Lane to the tops.

It is eons since I visited there, back in the day I did some cave diving in Wookey Hole and surrounding cave systems. It was nowhere near as commercialised as it is now, tacky even.

Cheddar Gorge Cheese Co still the real deal though having been there and using the natural conditions in the caves to store and mature the cheeses since the early 1100's.

Some nice photos there, A, especially the robin and the fungus. And... you captured old Rothwell House from the back!!! Thank you for that!! It certainly has seen better days, but it's good to see it anyway. In the back garden we had geese, and ducks in the shed. The upper left hand window was the bathroom, and my mother once leaned out of it and shot my Dad's .22 over the head of some guy who was trying to break into the back door. She scared him off, for sure. I'm just glad she missed hitting him :)
